Diablo 2 deadly strike vs crushing blow1/31/2024 ![]() ![]() I didnt trust Blizzard to make any good decision with the remaster of the game I loved, so the stance was justified, at first. I was heavily on the conservative side of the vet players at first, and that’s not illogical as the “no change!” stance was basically a lack of trust stance. Yes you’re right, it was more a food for thought type of thread. Gee wiz, I wonder why melee are sniffing coping and cling on to the fact they need CB? Because the game doesn’t allow them to deal damage otherwise against bosses. So a 10k pure physical attack is missing 40% (so 6k effective damage per swing now) and then cut in half by physical resistance (3k phys now).Ĭompared to lets say a hammer din who can spam out hammers at nearly the same rate at 20k damage per hammer, which can’t miss due to being a spell and where bosses have zero magic resistance so its ‘true’ damage. ![]() They are forced for miss about 40% of their attacks, and then the remaining damage is reduced usually by more than half after that. WHY do melee need CB (a gimick mechanic) to be able to deliver decent damage to bosses?īecause melee is capped at like 60% chance to hit bosses at best, and have a majority of their actual damage output reduced.ĬB is only mandatory because melee characters have no other way to deliver any effective damage to bosses. ![]()
